Michael Clayton Named 2025 AWW & WEA Manager of the Year

The Arkansas Water Works & Water Environment Association (AWW & WEA) has named Michael Clayton, Executive Director of North Little Rock Wastewater, as its 2025 Manager of the Year.
Clayton, a civil engineer with more than 30 years of experience in public infrastructure, has led North Little Rock Wastewater since 2021. Under his direction, the utility has advanced major capital projects, strengthened system operations, and improved long-term service reliability.
Prior to his current role, Clayton founded and served as principal of Clayton Engineering
and was City Engineer for Sherwood, Ark. He holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the
University of Arkansas and has served in multiple leadership positions within AWW & WEA, including association president in 2023.
“His ability to align technical expertise with public service goals makes him a model
utility leader, whose impact is felt across Arkansas,” said Jean Block, former president
of Little Rock Water Reclamation Authority.
The AWW & WEA Manager of the Year Award is presented annually to recognize
outstanding service and leadership in advancing Arkansas’s water and wastewater
systems.
