Full-Time Position, Pay Grade 15

Salary: $63,478.43–$103,404.43 DOE

Opening Date: 3/3/2025

Closing Date: Until filled


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: LICENSED PROFESSIONAL SURVEYOR

-  Knowledge of city, county, state & federal codes & laws for construction

-  Knowledge of surveying tools, methods, materials & practices

-   Skilled in reading and interpreting legal descriptions

-  Knowledge of drafting (CAD)

-  Skilled operator of surveying equipment, meeting professional surveying standards      

-  Ability to survey in all terrains, travel over uneven surfaces, perform full range of motions, lift 50 pounds & work outdoors in all types of weather

-  Ability to read & interpret sketches, plans & specifications

-  Ability to review projects

-  Ability to perform construction stake-out

-  Ability to communicate tactfully & effectively with citizens and public officials

-  Valid Arkansas Driver's License


APPLICANTS MEETING THE ABOVE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS WILL BE EVALUATED FOR PREVIOUS TRAINING OR EXPERIENCE IN THE DUTIES, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES DESCRIBED BELOW.  THOSE APPLICANTS WHOSE TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE BEST RELATES TO THE DUTIES, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES OUTLINED BELOW WILL BE GIVEN FIRST CONSIDERATION FOR THIS POSITION.


APPLICANTS WILL BE EVALUATED ON THE LENGTH AND QUALITY OF WORK EXPERIENCE OF A RELATED NATURE IN PREVIOUS POSITIONS AND ON OTHER FACTORS SUCH AS:

  • Absenteeism records

  • Current job performance ratings

  • Reference from previous employers attesting to work habits, punctuality, and reliability

  • Safe driving record


ALL APPLICANTS MUST HAVE THE ABILITY TO WORK WELL WITH SUPERVISORS, DEPARTMENT PERSONNEL, AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

-  Research deeds, easements & property ownership as needed

-  Survey property boundaries and locate property corners

-   Develop easements to include legal descriptions and exhibits

-   Survey gradient for gravity lines    

-   Represent NLRW at meetings as required

-  Coordinate with electric, gas, telephone, water, county, highway departments, etc. all utility work alignments

-  Perform final surveys for ‘As Built’ surveys and drawings.

-  Undertake any reasonable request within your capability that is good for the community & NLRW
